“Can I schedule a session with you?” my client texted me. “I need to talk to you about my dog’s food issues.”
Itchy dogs are the worst! I’ve been there as a pet mom–it’s unbearable to watch your animal suffer. As a dog mom, I can empathize. As a psychic, however, I need to keep my personal feelings and experiences out of the reading space. I call it ‘erasing the hard drive.’
This was not the first conversation we’d had about my client’s beautiful girl’s food allergies, so when we met on my recorded line I knew I needed to zoom out.
“I’ve been thinking,” I told my client. “I want to start from a big picture perspective. I don’t want to assume your dog’s itchiness is just from her food.”
Whenever my mind gets too active in the reading space, I pause and make doubly certain that my reading space is clean and clear and empty of any mental biases. Or at least as empty as I can make it!
Every psychic works differently.
It’s very important to me that my client keeps her power. So when I read for someone, I do my best to answer the question the client asks. This can sometimes mean that I need to actively remember to zoom out–like a camera lens going from a close up to a panoramic shot–so that I can see the bigger picture of my client’s question.
In the case of Hope (not her real name), I wanted to make sure we didn’t keep digging into her food allergies and forget that lots of other things make dogs itchy.
I’m not a vet, of course, and I always ask my clients to work with a veterinarian to support their animals. Psychic readings can provide insight, however, that guide and inform the conversation you have with your vet.
In Hope’s case, I saw that her food sensitivities were responsible for only about 30% of her itchiness. The rest was due to seasonal and topical allergens, so both allergens that were inhaled and those that Hope absorbed through her skin.
My client told me which foods she was giving her dog and I could feel their soothing energy. We discussed practical steps she could take, and I suggested she go back to her vet for medication.
There is no quick fix, unfortunately. But psychic insight can help to sort through the overwhelming number of possibilities when it comes to dog allergies and solutions.
Finally, Spirit suggested that my client learn to use a pendulum to check out possible dog foods in the future. I also told her to text me next time her dog’s itchiness flares up.
“Before you assume you need to change her food,” I told her, “Text me and I’ll take a peek.”
